Baccarat employs three people to distribute cards over four rounds of betting. The dealer of the casino mixes the cards while the main dealer places the cards in the shoe. The shoe circulates in an anticlockwise direction all around the table. First, the players place bets and then only the card distribution takes place.

The main dealer puts four cards without revealing them on the table. The person with the biggest wager gets a chance to see them first. If the sum of cards is eight or nine, the player wins. If cards are similar, there is a tie. Therefore, the main aim is to get cards as close to the score of nine as possible.
