Casino Cheats Q & A's: Part 1.

 

It is a common misconception to believe that it is only the real-world casinos that are targeted by cheats, any casino, on or offline can fall victim and every game is penetrable, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Keno...

 

If you play at casinos then you need to know how to protect yourself from cheaters. This article is the first in a series that tries to tackle some of the most serious concerns that honest players have when playing in a casino (real or internet) and will present the information in the form of Q & A’s.

 

 

1. I’ve visited websites on line that claim they have cheats for winning at poker online, is this possible?

 

It is certainly possible to cheat on internet poker games, however, the majority of sites that claim to be able to provide poker cheats to people are bogus. Never get sucked in to this type of promise, the sites may be attempts to propagate internet viruses, or simply to gather personal information on you- never enter your usual email address at any such site.

 

 

 

2. Can I cheat on slot machines in a real-world casino?

 

The answer is that yes, you probably can. But our advice is never try, slot machines are incredibly high-tech nowadays, and only the equivalent level of technology can beat them, this is not in the remit of the average person and you will almost certainly get caught. Further, if you are found attempting to tamper with a slot machine you face a prison sentence. Slot machine cheats are the most targeted out of all forms of cheating by security, so the machines are extra sensitive and highly monitored. The penalties are huge because cheats are used as examples as a warning to others.

 

 

3. I’ve heard that there is a trend in poker rooms that is seeing a proliferation of Russian cheats, is this true?

 

This is probably slightly influenced from such films as Snatch (“...stupid f@*king Russians...”), and there does not seem to be any basis to these claims, at least not in bricks-and-mortar casinos. Online poker rooms may be a separate matter, but there is no clear evidence. With this one, only time will tell.

 

 

4. Is ‘past-posting’ still common practice?

 

In the past a technique called past-posting was common to the cheater rubric, this can sometimes mean that they will take chips from other players at the table and swap these with their own chips (that they have placed for a bet), so that when the bets are settled it appears that they bet more than they originally did. This practice is still undertaken in real-world casinos, so make sure that you keep a track on all the bets you place, this is particularly true of table games where several bets are laid, such as craps and roulette.  

 

5. Is it possible for card shoes to be rigged in games of Blackjack?

 

 

Yep! You should not assume that you are taking part in a fair game when a card shoe is involved. Some casinos have ‘rogue’ employees, that is, employees who are really scamming the customers, and one way in which this is done is via the manipulation of the card shoe. There are several ways in which a card shoe can be rigged; the use of mirrors and prisms, for example, can allow the dealer, or an accomplice, to see the value of the next un-dealt card in the pack- meaning that they get significant information for determining how they should play their next move.
