I don't believe in lucky numbers I'm afraid so you may as well choose numbers in sequence, like 1,2,3 etc. I think you'd have just as good a chance! The only skill involved is knowing when to accept an offer.

The thing is, they know that you will probably have a strategy, but when it comes to having the opportunity, will the greed take over? Would you just forget about what you told yourself you would do, or take the chance anyway?

That is true. You never know what emotion or logic is going to kick in while you are actually playing. You might feel greedier when you actually have a chance to get your hands on money.

The only "strategy" a game like Deal or No Deal has is knowing when to walk away and not be greedy. You need to know your odds and work with them.

I am with the majority, I do not think there is an actual strategy. Some people are risk takers and some have an amount in their head that they are going to make a deal on. As for the boxes, you never know what numbers are inside, so I don not know how someone would make a strategy in that area.

I agree with you Chris, there's more of a mathematical thought process at each stage for me too. I don't really go for lucky numbers or an original figure. I'd say, like a lot of people, that a five figure amount is a good target, but I will always base my decisions on the board. I try and think of myself outside the game, and would I be prepared to buy my way into the situation for the amount the banker offers. So say the banker offers ten grand, if I'd be willing to pay ten grand to take the chance at the board then I play on. If he offers more than I would, then I take it.

You may as well choose your birthday and the rest of your family's birthdays and go with these numbers. It's as relevant as choosing the numbers in any other sequence. The thrill is making the decision whether to accept a large amount of money or to play on.

The banker's goal is to get you to leave with the least amount of money as possible. When they offer you a "deal", it is usually the lowest possible average of all of the remaining amounts. People get tripped up by risking guaranteed money for an unlikely shot at something bigger.
