7 Reels Review

7 Reels Casino was launched back in 2008, but its owners and operators Blacknote Entertainment Group Ltd Casinos have been in the online gambling business since 1999. Licensed in Costa Rica and powered by several game studios, including Betsoft and Pragmatic Play, 7 Reels is a place of real slot diversity and security, but also rewards ready to be snatched through regular promotions. The casino is open to players from the US, but if you reside in the UK or a number of selected European countries you will not be able to enjoy its games.

First Impressions: The Color of Money

As soon as I land on its main page ready for my in-depth 7 Reels review, I’m struck with a dark green theme that invokes images of dollar bills flying around the screen. And once you look around the platform a bit, you see that this is not just a mirage but the real thing, as the place is loaded with slot games. There’s even a jackpot tracker, for when you start feeling skeptical about your chances at winning. Navigation is easy and smooth, with side menus that follow you as you scroll down and a search bar available all the time. There’s also a little question mark sign at the top right corner of the page which takes you to the FAQ section as well as a live chat menu on the bottom right corner, which always comes handy when you need a quick answer.

However, while the platform is well-equipped and easy to use, there’s still one thing it lacks – the licensing and owner information. Everything else is there, the SSL certificate, footer menus for the T&C, as well as casino and software information, but where the info on the owners and license should be, there is nothing to be found. Not right, at all.

Welcome Bonus: Plenty of Cash

It’s nice when the bonus offer is more than you expect. When signing up at 7 Reels Casino, you can grab a $25 no deposit bonus along with a 500% match deposit bonus of up to $1,200 on your first deposit. You can also grab 500% match bonuses on your next four deposits in the casino, if you need more cash than the initial welcome bonus offers.

However, the sign up bonus at 7 Reels comes with pretty high wagering requirements of 75x and a minimum withdrawal limit of $100. But, on the other hand, any other deposit bonus you claim will only need to be wagered 25x, which is fairer than what most casinos offer. The game contributions are fairly standard, though, with slots having a 100% contribution rate, Video Poker 20%, and Roulette and mini-Baccarat 10%, while Blackjack contribution is watered down to only 2.5%. Any other games not listed in the contribution chart are considered non-contributing.

A Tournament Heaven

7 Reels might not have the standard set of match deposit promotions in place, but what they do have is a collection of daily, weekly, and monthly competitions and other stimulating options. For example, regardless of the day of the week, I can compete for a slice of the daily guaranteed prize pot of $15,000 in cash. To enter the pot, all I have to do is deposit a minimum of $75 and contact customer support to claim my ticket for the 15K skirmish. And if I feel like specifically playing Roulette, I can deposit less ($50) and hit the tables for chance to grab a piece of the weekly $5,000 cash prize pool. Of course, you only get a slice of the pot, but it’s better than nothing, right?

Playing Blackjack can also get you rewarded, as 7 Reels has a recurring Blackjack tournament each month with a guaranteed prize pot of $21,000 in cash for the best player and a slice of another $21K in cash for the every one of the top 10 players.

These prizes are an indication that 7 Reels is targetting the hardcore high limit players; if you’re into high stakes gambling then 7 Reels looks like the casino for you.

The casino also has a VIP program, which unfortunately they don’t disclose much about other that it has 6 levels, from Bronze (sign up level) to Ultimate Plus and that it comes with a number of perks, including exclusive promotions, accounts managers and “exclusive events all around the globe”. What they do disclose is an open-to-all “VIP Showdown” tournament that guarantees at least $200,000 in collective cash prizes. The prize pool also has no limits as to how much it can grow, but the entry ticket will cost you $500 in cash, which is probably the prerequisite to enter the Silver level.

And unlike most casinos nowadays, 7 Reels has different prize raffles every month. At the time of writing, they had two different promotions in place. One was a raffle for a 75-inch curved Samsung TV that you enter by making a $50 deposit, and the other was a $5,000 shopping trip in Milan, Paris, or London, that you can enter with a $100 buy-in.

Deposits & Withdrawals: $50 minimum Cashout

If you want to make a deposit, you can use Visa,Visa Electron, Maestro, Master and Paysafe cards, or use Neteller, Skrill, EcoPayz, Sofort, Cashlib, or Flexepin. All deposits are instantly processed by the casino and they all have the same minimum – $10.

Deposits can take anywhere from 24 hours to 7 business days to be processed (Paper Checks), and they come with different minimum limits. E-wallets like Neteller, Skrill, and Ecopayz have the lowest $50 minimum and no processing fees, while if you use a bank transfer you’ll be subject to a 28.75 $ processing fee and a $500 minimum, which is just ridiculous. The withdrawal limits vary depending on your VIP level, with the entry level (Bronze) being limited to no more than $1,000 per week.

Casino Games: BetSoft all the Way

The casino is loaded with Betsoft games, but there’s also VIG and Pragmatic Play titles available among the offer. Now this may sound limiting to some, but it actually isn’t because you’ll rarely find anything missing in the 180+ game collection, apart from Poker. You can also get a taste of the games without the need to spend any money or even download anything. But if you still prefer a downloadable option, you can also find it on the site.

Video Slots

The 3D slot collection includes popular hits like Diablo 13, Hot Safari, and the True Sheriff. Betsoft’s A Christmas Carol is also here, for anyone that wants to scour for wild Turkey symbols to trigger a number of winning combos or take a trip through time in one of the three bonus Ghost rounds. The Ghost of Christmas Past will let you win up to 12 Free Spins, and so will the Ghost of Christmas Future, while the Ghost of Present will only get you extra Wild symbols.

Classic Slots

If you’re looking for more classic fun, you can also find Pragmatic Play’s Treasures of Pharaoh’s slot. This slot comes in both a 5-reeled and a classic 3-reeled version with only 3 paylines. But despite its retro design, it still sports one modern feature – the Wild symbol. And although it is a tad cartoonish and too simple when compared to modern designs, it still has a charm that modern slots just can’t match.

For a fruitier experience, there are also 3 and 5-line versions of the Wild Sevens slot, which evokes memories of times when slot floors were loaded with little else but fruit machines. The 5-lined version is definitely more worth it as it offers more chances of hitting a decent cash prize, which in this case is a 6000x jackpot. Not bad for an old slot, right? But even if it didn’t catch your fancy, you can always have a go on the other 20+ classic slots at the casino.

Jackpot Games

7 reels has several progressive jackpot slots on tap with prizes up to 1.2 million credits. The Greedy Goblins jackpot comes with one Wild – the Sticky, which can land you up to 3 re-spins, while the jackpots can be triggered by landing 5 Elves on a max payline bet. The slot also comes with two bonus rounds, the first being a free spins round triggered by landing 3 Elfania symbols where you can have up to 10x multipliers. The main one, on the other hand, is triggered by 2 Book of Secret symbols and comes with different cash prizes.

You can also try the more popular At the Copa slot, which comes with three levels of progressive jackpots and a number of cash prizes, depending on your bet size. The Caliente jackpot has the biggest prize pool and it can be landed by hitting five chili peppers on your first payline, and there are also the Suave and Mediano Copa jackpots waiting behind its 30 paylines. True to its Latin American theme, the slot also comes equipped with a bonus round where you’ll have to pick who will compete in the dance-off for more cash prizes.

However, while the progressives here theoretically have large prize pools, these jackpots offer far less cash that what can be found across other platforms.

Live Games

The Live Dealer offering at 7 Reels is not as varied as some other casinos, but it covers most of what you would expect to find. The live games include Standard and American Roulette versions, a game of Baccarat, Super 6, and Blackjack, but no Poker games, but on the plus side, the Blackjack game comes with 3:2 payouts and liberal rules. However, the user interface feels a bit outdated and basic when you compare it to other live game providers.

Table Games

The table game selection at 7Reels isn’t exactly expansive either.  Most of the games here are Roulette and Blackjack variants that include popular Blackjack versions like the Multihand, Blackjack Royalle and Single Deck games. There are also two Baccarat games in the table section, but, surprisingly, there are no poker games. So, if you wanted a good Poker game but don’t want to spend your money on Video Poker, you might want to find a different casino.

Among the more unique games here is the Super 7 Blackjack – a variation of the Vegas strip game that comes with a number of side betting options. This game is a 6 deck variant with an interesting twist on the rules which have the dealer hit on soft 16 and stand on any 17s. Insurance is also allowed with 2:1 payouts, while the Blackjack payout is a standard 3:2. The side bet is separate to your wagers and is basically a wager on whether the first card you get will be one or two sevens. If you only get one of any suit, you can get a 3:1 return on your bet, while getting 2 or 3 can land you 50:1 and 100:1 payouts, respectively.

7 Reels Video Poker

For a casino that doesn’t offer any Poker games, you would expect to find at least 10 Video Poker games among its game collection, but this is not the case with 7 Reels Casino. Instead, what it does have is 7 Video Poker variants, including the standard Deuces Wild, Jacks or Better, and Joker Poker games, all part of the Pragmatic Play catalogue. The Royal Flush payouts are a standard 4000 among all games.

Other Games at 7 Reels

There are only 3 games to be found in the “other games” section, including the card-based Casino war, one Scratch Card called the Weed Whacker and one Keno variant. On the plus side, the Keno game comes with 10,000x jackpot that can be won by betting from 5 to 20 numbers. You can also play it for as little as 0.5 credits.

Customer Support: Available 24/7

The casino doesn’t have a direct phone line that you can use to get in touch with them, but it does have a live chat feature that’s available around the clock, should you find yourself in need of help fast. Apart from that, the only other option you have available is to use the e-mail, but this is something reserved for only when you don’t mind waiting, which is fair to say happens almost never. And if you prefer to try to handle things yourself first, you also have a FAQ section found at the top-right corner of the screen.

Desktop or Mobile

The same simple but functional design can be found on your smartphone, with an even better view of the games thanks to the large icons and the helpful side menu. The mobile platform runs just as smooth on both Androids and iOS devices, but on the devices I’ve used I found that it offers a much smaller game collection that lacks the Live Dealer games, the classic slots and all but one Video Poker game.

7 Reels Review – The Bottom Line

7 Reels Casino leaves you with some mixed feelings as it does offer great recurring promotions, a solid welcome offer and a good collection of Betsoft slots, but is lacking on other respects. The table game offering is quite good, if you’d rather play Blackjack than Poker, and the 24/7 support and VIP perks are always a plus. The lack of licensing information is a big no in my book, but on the other hand this is a casino that has been online for a while, so it’s not some unverified website looking to scam you out of your money. All in all, a good place for fans of slots and Blackjack, and an even better one for those looking for constant promotions which makes this a real draw for serious high rollers.
