Nero’s Fortune

Nero’s Fortune Slot by Quickspin – Review & Play

The military drums have been sampled again and the moody strings have been set on the synth sound banks because we’re back off to Ancient Rome!

Slots players must be amongst the most historically literate people online, as, although it’s not exactly an in-depth or particularly correct version of the past, games designers love taking us back in time.

Quickspin are the Tardis operators here, in this military-themed Roman game with great graphics and an atypical reel set staring out at you from in front of a burning city. (The legend of Nero is that he was the worst of the Roman emperors, who fiddled while his city burned – the reality is that most Roman emperors were monstrous by modern standards.)

This is a high volatility game, so you may have to wait for wins, but a good betting range makes it friendly to all sorts of players.

Should you join the legion, and watch Rome burn?

Let’s check out Nero’s Fortune slot.

What game provider is behind Nero’s Fortune?

Quick Spin make Nero’s Fortune. Quickspin are a Swedish company founded in 2012 and with around 70 games on the UK market. They make games across all genres, always looking amazing, with Vampire Senpai their current biggest title.

When was Nero’s Fortune slot released?

Nero’s Fortune was released onto the UK market on 24th March 2020, so it’s still very new.

The minimum bet is 0.2 coins or 20p in UK games, and the top stake is 100 coins or £100. The top prize is 8,168-times stake, or £816,800 – a life-changing figure for most people.

The Game

Nero’s Fortune Slot

Load up the game and you’ll see a great looking intro screen and striking sound and graphics from the off.

The controls very simple, and in a standard set-up for Quickspin.

At the right is the spin button with the turbo and auto-spin features adjoining it to the left. A Win window lets you know your prizes and bets are set with a bet total window that is to the right of your balance.

Settings and menus are opened at the bottom left of the control panel.

The game uses cluster wins and tumbles to deliver the prize. Winning clusters of up to 12 are counted, and winning symbols drop out to allow new symbols to drop into place. This retriggers until the winning sequence ends.

The Burning Arrows feature hits in the base game. Arrows fire into the space left by tumbling wins, and may increase the multiplier. Multipliers can remain in place and may be revealed in subsequent wins, adding up until the end of the winning sequence.

The Free spins round is triggered via 3 scatters. Flames of Nero free spins feature 10, 12, or 14 spins. There are randomly hidden multipliers that stay in play through the round, hitting when they reveal and remaining active and cumulative throughout the bonus round.

The pay table opens on card symbols and finished on a red ruby that pays 150-times stake for 12.

The Verdict

This is another quality title from a quality developer.

This game opens with a great start and just keeps getting better. Even the opening screen is good, and the music is moody and doomy.

The gameplay is super rich in features, with tumbling wins and cluster pays that give you something different to play with from the off.

The bonus features are interesting. The flaming arrows round gives plenty of visual interest in the game, and we’re sure we’re not alone in loving tumbling wins as a feature that keeps delivering spin after spin.

The bonus round is also great, not just a standard free spins round but a bonus round with hidden features and big win possibilities in a multiplier ladder.

You can play dozens of games set in Ancient Rome and if that is to your taste and you like a bit of a doomy and apocalyptic feel to your game then Nero’s Fortune is one for you to try. High volatility games aren’t for everyone but if they’re for you this is a great example.
