Mayfair Casino overview

Mayfair is a famously posh area of London. You probably need to win big on Mega Moolah to even afford a parking space there.

It’s also an elderly, ahem, adult content brand, but it’s probably the glamourous and exclusive slice of SW-postcode real estate that this addition to the Nektan family of casino sites is going for.

It does a decent job of summoning that up, with a nice clean design that features blues and golds and splashing on a page full of information about the site. Menus run across the top.

Nektan are not exactly new-comers to the UK casino scene, and we’ll discuss the pros and cons of organisations like there’s later on.

The company is based in Gibraltar, where they have a street address that you can check (we have, it exists).

They’re behind a load of online casino sites including licensed sites they run themselves like Ruby Loot, boom boom bingo, and Fika Casino.

This site is a “white label” operation. What does that mean? Really not that much to the player. White label sites are just like business franchises. McDonald’s, just about the best-known business in the world, is a franchise business. The parent company supplies everything the restaurant needs to churn out Big Macs, but each restaurant is owned by someone who runs it as a private concern. That’s what a white label is: Nektan supply software and various other backroom facilities, while an owner decides on the branding. There’s a financial arrangement between the two that we aren’t privy too, and the actual effect on the player is relatively small.

Mayfair Casino tells us that it is the UK’s largest, and, well, we don’t think that’s true, so that’s not a great way to introduce yourself. It’s very big, that is true, and has getting on for 1,000 games.

Should you sign on to play a few of them?

Let’s have a look.

Mayfair Casino Pros and Cons

If the perfect casino site comes along we’ll hang up our reviewing boots and leave you to it. Until then, we’ll keep negging away!

Pros:

1 Legal, licensed and safe

We mentioned the licensing for Mayfair Casino in our introduction. Why? Because it’s the most important thing about any site and you must never play at a site that does not have up-to-date UK Gambling Commission Licensing. And you want to be sure.

This is licensed as a white label site from Nektan, and the licence is completely clean – you’d be surprised how many household-name UK gambling sites have licences with demerits on them.

There’s more to safety than just a licence though, and we’re happy to say that Mayfair Casino has good quality security (and tells us about it).

Safe sites are usually good quality, and Mayfair Casino looks legitimate in every way.

2 – Mayfair Casino has Hundreds of Slots

Slots are the bread and butter of most UK online casino sites. And if you want slots then Mayfair Casino has a lot of them. More than 900 in fact.

They keep coming too, adding four games in the first 23 days of September. The top providers at the site are Red Tiger, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Microgaming, and ELK Studios.

Games are arranged sensibly, including by game provider, so it’s easy to find the games that you’re interested in.

There’s a huge variety of titles, including table games, and video poker, so Mayfair Casino is the place to check out slot titles.

3 – Generous Welcome Offers

We’ll go into offers in more detail later. We’ll also advise you that a welcome offer on its own is not the reason to sign up at a casino site – you should need more than that.

However, there’s no denying that an offer of up to £400 with 175 free spins is something that is going to attract the eye. The wagering requirement is not terrible (again, more details later) in the current climate, and with the understanding you can get a good deal out of this site.

4 – Live Casino

No site can survive in 2020 without a live casino. And it’s got to be good too. There’s a good selection of games at Mayfair Casino.

Games come from NetEnt, and you can check out roulette, blackjack, three card poker, baccarat, and TV game show-style games too.

Lots of choice, and lots of quality: you can’t really ask for much more than that.

5 – Cash in and out

A good choice of high-quality payment options is the least we need to see from a casino site.

Mayfair does well in this regard, with PayPal, all the cards, most e-wallets, pre-paid cards, and Boku for mobile payments.

There’s a good guide to how the payments systems work too, and with great trust already established, you can go ahead and deposit and play with confidence.

Cons:

And, on the downside…

1 – White label sites

White label sites are fine. They are how the industry works. One day you might even set up your own site! But, they do, by necessity look and perform in a very similar way.

Using sites from the same provider can also have an impact on which bonuses you can pick up too. And you should be aware that if you don’t like a particular type of site then you want to avoid them in the future, and white labels don’t make that obvious enough.

2 – How big?

Call us petty, but a headline on your site title that says, “The largest UK online casino” needs to be backed up.

By what measure? We’ve seen sites with more games. We’ve certainly seen sites with more pages. As to user numbers, we understand that this is a trade secret, but let’s just say we’ll be surprised if this white-label site has a bigger user base than some of the giant sites that advertise on Premier League shirts.

It pays to be honest.

Mayfair Casino Games and Software

We can’t tell you on what system Mayfair Casino runs its site, but we’ll assume it’s operated by Nektan, a brand of Markor Technology, who produce the software. This is a big trusted company and the site offers a good experience for players, and we’ll assume for its operators.

Games come from all sorts of providers, including smaller indies and some of the biggest names in the business.

Let’s have a look at these.

Slots

With a huge array of slots, it can be hard to arrange them. Mayfair Casino uses a sort of file manager tick box system to help players find their way around.

You can select your favourite provider from a list of 32 providers:

Red Tiger, Pragmatic, NetEnt, Microgaming, Blueprint, Scientific, Big Time Gaming, Crazy Tooth Studios, ELK Gaming, Eyecon, Four the Palyer, Foxium, G.Games, Games Co, Golden Rock, Inspired Gaming, Iron Dog, IWG, Just for the Win, lightning Box, Markor, Matrix Studios, Merkur, NextGen Gaming, NYX, NYX Gaming, Realistic Games, ReelFeel Gaming, Reels n Dice, Rising Entertainment, Rocksalt Interactive, Skilzz Gaming.

Front pages generally list the most popular games, and at Mayfair Casino games they open on:

Player Favourite slots, listing: Gonzo’s Quest Megaways, The Dog House Megaways, Starburst, Pyramid King, Book of Amdvat, Star Bounty, Rage of the Seas, and Spartacus Megaways.

The New Games box brings up: Spartacus Megaways, Rage of the Seas, Star Bounty, Spectre Estate, Ultra Hold and Spin, Wild O Clock, Book of Amdvat, Aapo’s Quest, Curse of the Werewolf Megaways, and Something fruity.

The Daily Drops and Wins lists games that are due to pay out. It is more and more popular to provide this service at online casino sites, and you can see why. Progressive and must-drop jackpot games are the ONLY game that it is possible to predict in any way (even then it’s a very small way). The list at Mayfair Casino is: Wolf Gold, Mustang Gold, Sweet Bonanza, John Hunter and the Tomb of the Scarab Queen, Wild West Gold, Bronco Spirit, Great Rhino Megaways, The Dog House.

Jackpot games including: Paws of Fury, Top Cat, Vikings of Fortune, Genie Jackpots, Divine Fortune, and Winstar are listed.

You can also select instant win games, which are an online version of scratch cards, at Mayfair casino. The top titles on our visit were: 7UP, Epic Gems, and Cash Buster.

Bingo

Nektan run a number of specialist bingo sites, and you can access bingo games at Mayfair Casino. Bingo is a great game, but we’re not a specialist bingo site so we’ll leave in-depth coverage of that part of the site to those sites.

You can enjoy though:

75-ball, 80-ball, 90-ball, and Bingo Blast games at Mayfair Casino.

Table Games

The company behind Nektan, Markor, make their own casino games, so you’d expect to find those listed at the site.

Games are divided between roulette and blackjack, and you can also play baccarat and punto banco, as well as Texas Hold’em poker.

There’s a good selection of all casino games available at Mayfair Casino.

Bonuses at Mayfair Casino

Bonuses exist to serve one purpose: they are there to tempt players to join a casino site, and once they have joined they are there to tempt the player to spend more money.

You should always remember that casinos are very profitable businesses and that their profits are without exception lost bets: there isn’t any other source of income. It’s nice to imagine that those profits are the lost bets of a mythical demographic called Other People, but they aren’t – they can easily be your lost bets.

So, as you evaluate any offer you need to know that it is intended to make you play more. If it’s good and healthy for you to play more then, by all means, tuck in and enjoy. If it’s not, and if playing is no longer fun then don’t.

The Welcome Bonus

The Welcome Bonus at Mayfair Casino has a big generous headline offer. They all do, but there’s no doubt that Mayfair Casino have done their best to put together an attractive package.

The headline is: Up to £400 and 175 free spins.

So what does that mean?

The bonus is split into three segments.

The first deposit bonus is a 100% bonus worth up to £100 along with 100 bonus spins on Starburst, NetEnt’s most famous game, and a long-time UK number 1 game.

Then on your second deposit, you’ll get a 50% bonus worth up to £100 along with 50 spins on either Swirly Spin or Finn’s Golden Tavern, two new surreal games.

Finally, your 3rd deposit can get you a 50% bonus of up to £200, with 25 free spins on Starburst.

So straight away, that £400 bonus offer isn’t all available at 100% levels, and you need to deposit £600 of your own money to earn all of that bonus.

The small print, which you should always read, tells us that the minimum deposit is £10.

In order to unlock any winnings from this bonus fund, you need to meet a wagering requirement. A wagering requirement is the amount of your own money you need to deposit and play with to get access to money you win with the bonus.

Mayfair casino has a wagering requirement of 30-times the total of your deposit and the bonus. So, if you deposit just £10 then you earn a £10 bonus to give a total of £20, and 30-times that is £600.

So if you think you’re going to deposit a bit of cash and walk away with lots of free money, then you should forget that and get another hobby. There’s a limit to the amount you can win from your bonus too, which can’t be more than four times the amount of the first bonus, so that’s just £40 in our example, in return for deposits of £600 remember. You must complete the wagering requirement within 28 days or you lose the bonus funds.

Can you see now how a welcome bonus serves the site and gets you to spend more time and more money at a site?

Your spins must be used within seven days of their award. All of the spins are played at 10p stakes.

These too have the same wagering requirement on winnings, and the same cap on the amount of winnings.

You cannot pay off your wagering requirements with blackjack and roulette. There are weightings on other games too, so some games do not contribute their entire value towards wagering requirements.

Other Promotions at Mayfair Casino

A welcome bonus is a nice start, but a good site will give you an ongoing programme of giveaways so that you know that they care! (They don’t care.)

Promos change regularly, so you need to check the promotions page as you arrive at a site.

On our visit to Mayfair Casino we found:

  • Game of the Week, with a 50% bonus on deposits worth up to £5 if you play a particular game.
  • Tiered Spins are free spins awarded over the weekend for a deposit, up to a maximum of 30 spins with a 40-times wagering requirement.
  • Midweek spins are a similar deal but on Wednesdays and limited to 10 free spins on a smaller selection of games.

There’s also a selection of giveaways worth up to £2 million and linked to Pragmatic Play games.

Loyalty Schemes and VIP at Mayfair Casino

Every casino has a loyalty scheme. Like bonuses, they are designed to get players to spend more time and more money at a site.

They do give you some returns but you need to be sure that you are only spending a healthy amount of time and money at a casino site and only playing for fun.

What you get at Mayfair Casino is fairly typical of a current UK casino site loyalty scheme.

It is a six-level scheme with new benefits at each level. They include regular deposit bonuses, promotions, cashback, 24-7 customer service, free spins, a welcome bonus at each level, a VIP team, gifts, faster withdrawals, and special events.

All members in the loyalty scheme get deposit bonuses every Friday.

You can get £1,000 cashback weekly at the top of the scheme.

Loyalty schemes are worth joining, but please make your gambling decisions around the health of your bank account.

Mayfair Live Casino

Live casinos are the must-have for any casino site these days.

Mayfair Casino calls its offering Live Dealer games. The vast majority of them are from NetEnt one of the two top providers at the moment.

Live games are different from casino simulators that we have listed earlier on in this review. Live games generally require higher staking to join in, as staff have to be paid. Live games cannot really be played in a demo mode, so you can’t mess around with no risk on a live game, this makes it all the more important to understand games before you start – play a simulator on demo mode if you can. Live games don’t run all the time, so you may need to schedule to play the games you love, and there are seat limits on some games.

There is an extra social dimension with live games that we think can be a risk for players. Please don’t play a game because of a perceived or hoped-for relationship with the dealer. They are there to work – and should be treated with the utmost respect at all times – but they are not going to be your friend.

You can play:

Live roulette at Mayfair Casino, including French, American, and European games and a number of experiences, including auto games, immersive games, and high-speed games.

Live blackjack at Mayfair Casino includes a similar range of titles and experiences.

Among the other titles are baccarat, Caribbean, hold’em and three-card poker, as well as newer games like TV game shows and spinning wheel games.

Mayfair Mobile Casino and App

Mayfair Casino has an adaptive website that you can use on any mobile device. Just browse to the URL and start enjoying mobile games.

Banking

A good range of baking systems is a great sign and may be a make or break for players. At Mayfair Casino, we’re happy to say that the site has a lot of safety and security precautions.

Among the payment methods offered by Mayfair Casino are:

Visa, MasterCard, BOKU (mobile payments), Paysafecard, Skrill, Trustly, and Zimpler.

Customer Support

Customer service comes in three popular flavours at Mayfair casino: live chat, email, and telephone. There is also an FAQ with a lot of information and links to other information on the site.

The telephone number listed is: +44 20 3457 3253

The email address is [email protected]

And you can access live chat on the website between 8 am and midnight.

The Final Verdict

There are a lot of things to enjoy on your trip to Mayfair: good games from great providers, a wide range of titles, a decent design and easy to use site, and a safe, legal and licensed site you can use with confidence.

All of those really are well delivered here. Nearly 1,000 games are scattered around this site, and they’re easy to find and well arranged. There’s a great selection of providers, and if you can’t find the games you enjoy playing then you need some help.

There are scratch cards, there are casino simulators and a huge live casino offering. Everything you could want.

The site looks pretty good, and it is very well laid out and easy to use.

Nektan are big operators and they can be trusted to deliver a good service, and they offer a good range of good quality payment methods with all the security back up you could need – including good customer service.

There are some negatives, however. We always raise that white label sites can be a bit samey. If you want something unique then look elsewhere. And, we found some parts of the site too heavy on marketing, plus we’re not all that keen on the claim that this site is “the UK’s biggest” unless it can be backed up.

Mayfair Casino is a good site and a good addition to the UK casino scene.
