RabCat

RabCat Gambling sit under the sign of a yellow and black cat. The company is an Austrian business, also listed online as RabCat Computer Graphics.

They currently have around 20 games on the UK market, which includes some decent-sized hits.

No company these days has a particularly narrow specialisation, but we would say that RabCat has a particular bent for games with heavy-duty characterisation and they like historical themes.

We’ll take a look at what this company is about and tell you about their games. We’ll also tell you whether you can play RabCat Gambling software safely (the short answer is, yes, you can!), and how you can play RabCat Gambling games for free.

So let’s have a look at RabCat.

The Company

Company structures aren’t really of that much interest to end users of slots. However, we do think it’s important that players know the companies that they are dealing with are decent, honest operators with a good foundation.

Some company structures are opaque and hide mergers and acquisitions that mean players are using products that are more similar than they think they are.

This is not the case with RabCat Gambling. Although the company is part of a larger group, RabCat Computer Graphics, it is not part of another online video slots company.

RabCat Gambling was founded in 2001.

They have been releasing online video slots for the UK market since 2013. They now have 19 slots in the UK market and are ranked by an auditor that we trust at 69th most popular and visible provider in the UK. That’s a good ranking for such a relatively small company.

This is how the company themselves describe what they do:

“Pushing boundaries regularly and being one of the leading and most dedicated developers in the international iGaming industry? Yes, that’s us. That’s RABCAT GAMBLING.”

They say their specialisations are “quality and novelty” (which everyone says), and that alongside slots they make table games and 3d games with trademarked products (presumably their expertise is in graphics).

The company employs more than 50 people in eight countries.

The company says it has partnerships with the Austrian lotteries company, Microgaming, and Yggdrasil. These last two are gigantic gaming companies in their own right and also run their own casino and slot sites.

The casinos that RabCat Gaming name as homes for their games are:

bCasino, Play OJO, Mr Green and William Hill.

You’ll no doubt recognise some of those names.

Is RabCat Gambling a Legal, Legitimate Company?

Yes. We simply wouldn’t review or recommend companies that are not safe for our readers to use.

The only way for a company to be safe for UK players in UK casinos is with a UK Gambling Commission licence.

The company’s account with the UK Gambling Commission is reference 40192, which confirms that the company is based in Rennweg, Vienna. The company is licensed to provide remote gambling software. There are no sanctions or actions recorded against the company.

The account also confirms that the company is called Rabcat Computer Graphics, trading as RABCAT Gambling.

The company shoes plenty of signs of being legitimate, legal and high-quality, and even has some awards to its name,

RabCat Games

There are a lot of companies whose catalogues are much bigger than this so we can’t cover their games individually in any depth. With just 19 titles, we are able to have more of a look at RabCat Gambling’s games.

And here they are, with the most recently released first:

Mining Fever

The mining theme is a natural for online slots – we’re all after something valuable that’s sort of hidden away after all. RabCat’s contribution was released on 5th March 2020 and is there most recent title to hit the market. It has a low variance, which means it is more likely to award lower prizes than other games but that the prizes are more likely to appear more often. It has an RTP of 96.13%. The game has 243 Betways on a 5 by 3 grid. You can enjoy wilds, expanding wilds, wild rushes, random wilds, and a free spins round. The top prize is 500-times stake, and betting can run from 0.2 coins to 40 coins.

Treasure Heroes

This is a historical and role-playing game themed game, on a 5 by 5 grid, with some lovely graphics. Sticky wilds are a big feature of the base game, and a free spins round is the biggest bonus. The top prize in this medium volatility game is just shy of 2,000-times stake. Cascade or avalanche wins are delivered via a Moving Wall feature. This is a very good looking game that is aimed at attracting gamers as much as hardened slot guys we think, it was released in February 2020.

North Storm

North Storm is not as you might have feared some dodgy bunch of nationalist losers, but another entry to the grand tome of Viking-themed games! This one came out in November 2019, with an RTP of 96.3% and medium volatility confirming that its stats are very much in the acceptable current range. The top prize is 5,000-times stakes from betting that runs from 0.25 coins to 50 coins, which should be 25p to £50. This has a classic 5 by 3 grid with cascading wins, multipliers, wilds and scatters that trigger the free spins round. Another game that looks and sounds absolutely fantastic.

Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Machine

This is interesting theming for a slot, the legendary inventor who has become something of a cult cause celebre in recent years. Again, it looks beautiful and delivers on gameplay with a big battery of bonus features. Coming out in September 2019 its RTP of 96.2% is generous, and its medium volatility and a top prize of 4,100-times stake are all fine. Bets run from 0.25 to 75 coins. A 5 by 3 grid hosts 25 pay lines. The bonuses focus on a free spins round, but exploding wilds add a touch of the theatre to the main game.

Sherlock of London

There are some copyright issues around the use of the full name of Sherlock Holmes, and if you want to read up on copyright law then the Holmes case is a two-pipe problem if anything is. This game takes the steampunk approach to Sherlock that has been popular in recent years, and the graphics are really fun. It was released in July 2019, with an RTP of 96.03% and medium volatility. The top prize of 1,000-times stake is quite low and you can bet between 25p and £25. Loads of wilds in various forms show up as bonuses in the base game, and a free spins round is the main extra round.

Crystal Rift

This game came out at the end of 2018. The game has a 96.03% RTP and a ton of really clever features. The grid is invisible with symbols dropping in and a grid of hexagons setting up wilds in the resulting finished spin. Wilds also expand, and there are respins to keep the wins coming. No free spins this time, but the top prize is higher at 4,000-times stake. There are 25 pay lines on a 5 by 3 grid. It looks beautiful and is themed on crystals in a really lovely way.

Robin of Sherwood

Robin Hood was a famous old English outlaw who allegedly stole from the rich to give to the poor. He’s a touchstone in British history (and because of the British Empire and imperialism in world history) as a harmless representation of redistribution without resort to Marxism! Thanks, Robin. This July 2018 release has low to medium volatility but a top prize of 4,000-times stake, with stakes from 0.2 to 30 coins. A standard grid layout has 243 pay lines, and the bonuses are focused on wilds and free spins. This medieval-themed game came out in July 2018 and has a kind of modern Disney aesthetic.

Moby Dick

Moby Dick is not – we repeat is not – the punchline to a bad joke! It is one of the greatest works of literature ever, say people who have read it. This is not us, so to us, it is a punchline. Here RabCat show more respect to Captain Ahab by using him as the basis for a nicely steam punky take on 19th-century whaling, delivered with RabCat’s trademark focus on fantastic looks. Some wins in this game are locked, there’s a generous free spin round, and a slightly odd gamble feature on all wins that double-or-quits based on fish hooks in tea cups! With a great top prize of 250,000 coins from gambling that runs from 1p to £50, this is a game that has stuck around well since its 2017 release.

Gnome Wood

We’re off to the woods with a cute and magical take on fantasy and wildlife that is female friendly. This uses the Wandering Wild feature that the company came up with themselves. The game has a standard 5 by 3 grid with 25 pay lines. Free spins include even more feature-rich and there’s a gamble feature on wins too. There’s an RTP of 96.63% on this game with medium to high volatility. We’ll say something predictable here: this game looks amazing.

Castle Builder II

An award winner here from 19th July 2017, that is set in a fictional world of New Forana. The game is heavily character-based, with players choosing who to play the game as. There’s a free spins round as the main bonus, in a game that has four levels of increasing volatility and RTP. The game features 300 characters making 75 castles in 15 kingdoms, with trophies awarded all the way through. The game has a 95.5% RTP and 15 pay lines. Freespins is the main bonus feature.

Classic 243

Classic means retro, and this game is a futuristic and spacey take on a classic slot set in space. The 243 refers to a pay line setup of 243 ways to win, the free spins round comes with guaranteed wilds, which also feature in the base game. There’s a standard 5 by 3 grid with a lot of neon and clever lighting effects in this game. There’s a gamble feature too.

Frozen Diamonds

This game was released in August 2016. It has a very generous theoretical return to player at 97% and a great top prize of 80,000 coins. Betting runs from 1p to £40. The game plays on a classic 5 by 3 grid with 20 pay lines and is feature-heavy, with free spins, a jackpot, double or quits gambles, and wilds.

River of Riches

This game is an ancient civilisation and archaeology game, in the style of the rich Wilde series. It’s quite old, coming out in 2015, so you may need to power up Flash in your browser to get it playing. The backdrop is Egyptian and this is a 3d graphics game. An RTP of 96% delivers a top prize of 40,000 coins on betting from 1p to £40 on a 20 pay line game of 15 symbols.

Dragon’s Myth

This is a lovely looking game, with a little girl and a dragon looking to save a kingdom or something. Their tools are wilds, free spins, and multipliers. As a low-to-medium volatility game with betting from 0.2 coins up this is quite an entry-level friendly game, and the 96.1% RTP is good value, and the 2,000-times stake top prize is good too. Beautiful animation and graphics haven’t dated at all since this 2015 release.

Castle Builder

The original dates back to 2014, and you can see what the sequel builds on in this very strong title, which has most of what the follow up has with the exception of a free spins round. Really strong animation and gameplay are probably the standout features of this game. The RTP is 96.47%, which is still great, and the low to medium variance makes it a good game for new players to try out. You can stake from a penny on up too. There are a lot of medieval-themed games, but few that are as inventive as the castle builder series.

Scary Friends

Wilds, free spins, and a bonus game are the main bonuses in this great fun game from 2014 that owes a bit to the film Monsters Inc. It’s got a 95.47% RTP and low volatility again, but there’s nothing modest about the top prize of 40,000 coins. This movie-themed and science fiction in a cute and cuddly sort of way, and, again, a fantastic looking game.

Penguin Splash

We’re back in 2013 now, but people are still playing this game which rates well inside the top 5,000 titles in the UK. The RTP is low at 94.96%, with betting from .01 to 15 coins and a 15 pay line classic reel set up.

Forsaken Kingdom

Another release from RabCat Gaming’s first year, this is a medieval-themed game that takes a more serious slant on the past than the company’s other similar titles. The RTP is still good, well over 96%. It’s a very classic looking game with a 5 by 3 grid and 25 pay lines. Free spins are the main bonus game, and you’ll need Flash on in your browser.

Legend of Olympus

For their first release, RabCat went the furthest back in history that they have, to Ancient Greece, and they showed from the off what they were about: 3-d graphics, great animation, nice soundtracks, and lovely cartoon graphics. This game is a good introduction to the company’s catalogue and is deservedly still available in UK casino sites.

Where Can You Play RabCat Games

You can play RabCat Gambling games in all sorts of casinos. The audit site that we use says they are available at 518 casinos in 33 countries. The list of partners we used from the company themselves shows a number of game supply companies and casino groups.

The company’s most visible games currently are, Treasure Heroes, Mining Fever, North Storm, Frozen Diamonds, and Gnome Wood, which are mostly the most recent releases from the company.
