Great Britain Casino Review
There are any number of patriotic British punters to chuck their cash at something decked out in Union flags and iconic British imagery.
This relatively new addition to the UK fleet is a 2019 launch from Jumpman Gaming, the company who are also behind a huge number of their own brands (including LightsCameraBingo.com, MultiVictorySlots.com, OnPointBingo.com, PirateSlots.com, RainbowSpins.com and ShowreelBingo.com), and white label sites like Amigo Slots, Chomp Casino, and Pink Riches).
They’re a big and well-established company with a total of 162 sites to their name.
Great Britain Casino is one of their white label sites. This model is something like a franchise. Just as every MacDonald’s restaurant in the world is related to the parent company and an independent business in its own right, white label casino sites rely on a developer to set up a site that’s ready to go, then operators can come in and handle the branding, marketing, and decision making.
Great Britain Casino is branded very much as you would expect. Graphical representations of some London landmarks provide the visual interest against a palette of dark blues and whites.
The main features when you arrive at the site are the (potentially) massive welcome offer of 500 free spins, and the fact that it’s quick to register and play at the site. Games are previewed in tiles that show there around 1,000 slots, and lots more including live casino games and bingo.
Should you show your love of the UK by playing at Great Britain Casino?
Let’s have a look!
Great Britain Casino Pros and Cons
There isn’t a perfect casino site that we’re aware of, so let’s unpick Great Britain Casino a bit.
1 – Licensed, legal and legitimate
Most online slots players and casino fans will never so much as see a scam site. The industry is not the Wild West it once was and regulation has come on a great deal. But you do need to check unless you use a site like ours that will check for you.
We can confirm that Great Britain Casino is licensed not once but twice. The important one for UK players is the UK Gambling Commission licence. This makes it legal for UK players and confirms the information about the company, which is based in the Channel Islands on Alderney, where the company is also licensed.
You can trust Great Britain Casino to deliver a fair, regulated experience.
2 – Tons of Games
We reckon there are around 1,000 games at Great Britain Casino. A huge number of them are slots, which are spilling out of the site as the average Briton spills out of a pub or club on a Saturday night!
There are casino games too, including live casino titles from the biggest providers, and they include blackjack, roulette, and a lot more besides.
Bingo is a big thing for Jumpman gaming and you can play it at Great Britain Casino, something that makes the site stand out from its competitors.
3 – Big Offer
There’s a chance involved, but you love taking a chance if you’re an online casino fan, but if you do hit the jackpot and grab the top prize in the Welcome Offer at Great Britain Casino then you’re in for a prolonged thrill with a welcome offer of 500 free spins on Starburst, for years the UK’s favourite slot.
4 – Functional Site
They might not win any design awards, but Jumpman and their partners in Great Britain Casino do know what they’re doing. The site is easy to understand, easy to use, and easy on the eye.
5 – PayPal Casino
PayPal is a great payment option. It is the best-known, most trusted e-wallet and it is a real sign of quality and convenient to see it at an online casino website. Great Britain Casino shows the logo proudly on its front page.
Everything has a downside. It’s the Yin and Yang of life, and that means we have to add some cons to our pros.
1 – Straight out of the box
If you are a fan of a unique casino experience then white label sites might not be the place for you to go.
This is a perfectly legitimate and very popular business model, but it can create a false impression of the casino market as a whole (by making people believe that there are more operators than there actually are), and it can mean you end up shaking your head and wondering why so many sites look and feel the same and stock all the same games.
2 – Written content and contacts
Some of the written content on Great Britain Casino isn’t of the best quality. There’s nothing that anyone won’t understand, but we can spot filler when we see it – we write it ourselves sometimes. And the warnings around the contact address – don’t send follow up emails, don’t reply to mails that you’ve received to create a chain, aren’t a promising introduction to a customer service section.
3 – Wagering Requirements
At 65-times deposit and bonus, the welcome offer comes with some of the biggest wagering requirements we’ve ever seen.
Great Britain Casino Games and Software
Jumpman Gaming provide the software that makes up the framework of the site. Games come from a huge variety of providers, including most of the big names in the slots, casino, bingo and live casino world.
Slots are the mainstay of the online casino world and there are hundreds of them at Great Britain Casino arranged in a number of ways to make finding your favourites easy.
On the front page are the:
Featured Slots at Great Britain Casino including: Augustus, Fluffy Favourites Slingo, Fluffy Favourites, Irish Pot Luck, Starburst, Wild Wild Riches Luck of the Irish, 9 Pots of Gold, Rainbow Riches Pick n Mix, Fishin’ Frenzy, and Chilli Heat.
There is also a selection of the most popular games, called Hot Slots at Great Britain Casino. These titles will change, of course, but on our visit, they included: Reel King Mega, Book of Gold Double Chance, Blue Wizard Fire Blaze Jackpots, 9 Masks of Fire, Twin Spin Megaways, Medallion Megaways, Rainbow Jackpots, 777 Burning Wins, and Diamond Inferno.
The New releases are always a popular destination for slots players and on our visit the latest titles were: 10,001 Nights, Scroll of Egypt, A Tale of Elves, Slingo Lightning, Cash Encounter, Solar King, Reel Holidays, Christmas Carol Megaways, Carol of the Elves, and Lucky Fish and Chips.
If you want the biggest prizes then you’ll need to head to the Jackpots tab, where you’ll find the likes of: Fluffy Mega Jackpot, Stampede, Fluffy Favourites Fairground, Fluffy Too Mega Jackpot, Irish Luck, Jackpot Enchanted Prince, Shaman’s Dream, Sugar Train Jackpot, Unicorn Bliss Jackpot, and White Wizard.
We don’t normally cover bingo, but it is a feature at this site, where you can play 75 ball, 80 ball, and 90 ball bingo games.
Casino games are delivered in two ways: live games are piped in from remote locations and played with real people running the games, and these titles are simulated computer versions of your favourite online casino games.
As well as a live casino roulette offering you can also play: European Roulette, Roulette, 20p Roulette, Golden Book Studios Roulette x 2, 100/1 Roulette, Multifire Roulette, and American Roulette.
Blackjack is the most popular casino card game in the world. At Great Britain Casino you can enjoy these titles in simulated version alongside a live selection: Vegas Strip Blackjack, Atlantic City Blackjack Multihand, Vegas Single Deck Blackjack, Vegas Downtown Blackjack MultiHand, Vegas Strip Blackjack Multihand, Vegas Single Deck Blackjack MultiHand, European Blackjack Multihand, Vegas Downtown Blackjack, European Blackjack, Classic Blackjack, Atlantic City Blackjack, and Blackjack.
You can also play baccarat and a mega wheel game and solitaire.
Video poker is an underrated game. It’s great value, very easy to understand, and easy to play. Video Poker titles at Great Britain Casino are classed as slots and listed with them.
Other Games at Great Britain Casino
Scratchcards and Slingo games are also listed with standard slots. Scratchcards work exactly like the games of the same name in the real world. Slingo is a hybrid of slots and bingo and has become particularly popular in the past couple of years. Great Britain Casino has a good selection of both of these games.
Bonuses at Great Britain Casino
Bonuses are the first thing most people see when they encounter any new casino site. You can’t help it, as it’s always the most heavily publicised part of any launch – at Great Britain Casino you arrive at the site to see the offer on a gigantic banner.
Welcome Bonus at Great Britain Casino
The welcome bonus at Great Britain Casino looks very much like a lot of others, and making sense of offers, particularly welcome offer is something that takes a little bit of research and effort.
The headline offer at Great Britain Casino is: Spin the Mega Wheel and Win Up to 500 Free Spins on Starburst.
This sounds great. So let’s look at the small print.
The minimum qualifying deposit is £10. No player can win more than £8 for every 10 spins they are granted and the maximum win is £250 or the total of all your deposits over your entire time at the site, whichever is lower.
The free spins are won via a lucky wheel spin and are granted in sets of 50 spins (you have to claim these if you win 500).
You need to log on to your account once every seven days or you will lose bonus funds in your account.
All bonuses at Great Britain Casino are subject to wagering requirements. Wagering requirements are a standard feature in the online casino industry and they reveal the true purpose of every casino bonus. A wagering requirement is a sum that you must deposit in your account and play with before you can withdraw money won with bonus funds.
At Great Britain Casino this is 65 times the bonus plus any other wagering requirements. This means that if your bonus is worth £10 then you need to wager £650 before you can remove any of the cash you win with it. And the only bets that are counted towards the bonus requirement are bets made with bonus funds – this is a requirement we have seen at other sites, and we’re still not clear how it works: how is one supposed to make wagers totalling 65-times a bonus using only that bonus?
No bets made on blackjack, roulette, any table game or any progressive slots count towards your wagering requirement.
Other Promotions at Great Britain Casino
Promotions change over time, so you need to check what is available when you sign up and you need to be sure that you are eligible for the bonuses you want to claim.
On our visit, there were these promotions on offer:
A give away on Slingo Fluffy, in which players could win a prize draw with an iMac as the prize.
There is a Free Spins of the Month offer, with a chance to win 20 spins or more with qualifying deposits.
The bonus wheel is available to players who deposit £20 or more, and they can win more free spins.
There is a daily cashback offer.
Every Wednesday a happy hour offers another chance to spin the wheel and win free spins.
The biggest single-spin win every month gets a £50 voucher to use at Just Eat.
This is a big and busy selection of promotions.
Loyalty Schemes and VIP
Pretty much every casino operates some sort of loyalty programme or VIP club. These are controversial as some experts believe they may encourage players to spend too much and to get into problems, so always remember that your own health and financial health is the most important factor when making decisions about gambling.
The scheme is styled as a Trophy Collection game at Great Britain Casino. You need to complete tasks to pick up trophies, and by doing so you can work your way up a 16 level ladder that awards free spins in slices of 5, 10, 15, and 20.
There are also prize draws for trophy winners.
Great Britain Live Casino
Every casino site needs a good live casino offering these days. Great Britain Casino has a small selection of casino games played with live dealers.
Live casino games work slightly differently from any other game. Because they are more expensive to run they are often more expensive to play, so please be aware of safe gambling protocols when you head to the live casino. Not all live casino games may be available all the time, and you may not be able to get a seat at the live game you want to play.
We found live roulette and live blackjack offered at Great Britain Casino.
There were five blackjack tables running on our visit, and a roulette lobby was open, with live games, auto roulette, and speed roulette all on offer.
Great Britain Mobile Casino and App
Great Britain Casino serves mobile casino players with an adaptive website rather than an app. App play requires a download to your phone or tablet device. A website can be accessed at any time just by using your mobile web browser.
Both methods have their fans. Apps are super convenient and some of them come with great extra features, including streamlined deposits for mobile players. However, an app means you’re making a commitment to a site and may be deterred from shopping around for other sites.
Great Britain Casino has a large selection of slots, instant win games, casino games, and live casino games on its mobile casino site.
You’ll want some money in your account to play at Great Britain Casino. In order to do this you need to use one of four payment methods:
- Debit cards, Visa, MasterCard and Maestro cards are accepted.
- Paysafecard, a prepaid card.
- Pay by mobile, a group of payment methods that use mobile bills to fund an account, and,
You can link up to three payment methods to your account at Great Britain Casino.
PaybyMobile payments must not exceed £20, and each one incurs a £2.50 transaction fee. No withdrawals can be made to PaybyMobile accounts.
All withdrawals attract a transaction fee of £2.50.
Withdrawals are first put into a “pending” state that can last up to four days and then transferred to a bank account in between 1 and 5 working days.
You must prove your identity before you make your first withdrawal from Great Britain Casino. This means sending a copy of your driving licence or passport or a recent bill or bank statement. The company may also ask for a copy of your debit card.
Most customer support in the casino industry is now delivered via live chat on a website.
However, casino websites would much rather you didn’t bother them, and they usually post large FAQ documents to deal with most common queries. There’s a decent one at Great Britain Casino that covers a lot of possible issues and is well laid out and easy to understand.
If you don’t find your answers there then you can use the [email protected] email to get in touch with the company.
We’ve mentioned in our earlier summary that the company includes warnings about how to contact them which look very unfriendly, to say the least.
The company is signed up with all the right industry organisation to supply exclusions, safe gambling information and help, and dispute resolution vie eCOGRA.
The Final Verdict
There’s a lot to like at Great Britain Casino, which is a decent addition to the UK casino market and to the big Jumpman Gaming Casino family.
The first thing to say is that there are loads of games. And because of Jumpman’s history in the bingo industry, there’s an extra dimension to the gameplay here that you don’t find at all sites.
Bingo sites often have a different set of slots, and you can see some of those titles, most notably more cute games like Fluffy Favourites, available at Great Britain Casino.
There are some downsides to this site though. There are too many mistakes and poor phrasings in the written content at the site. Nobody’s perfect, least of all us, but some of the content makes you wonder just how good the site is.
This includes some pretty poor content that sounds like a warning not to get in touch with customer services! That’s not good. To balance this there’s a decent quality FAQ documentary and a fair amount of good safe gambling advice.
And the welcome offer – and other promotions – offer a lot of promise, that they somewhat undermine with a 65-times wagering requirement that the rules at the site warn you can only be paid off with bets made with bonus funds themselves. We’re not even clear how this would ever be possible – perhaps someone can tell us.
There are also fees on withdrawals and fees on some deposits.
Don’t get too put off by these negatives. This is a welcome offer you can use to look around the site, and we always advise thinking of these offers in that way – forget about the money, the offer is designed to make you spend more than you win, and that will almost certainly be the case.
And we know that the site is popular because we can see players using it and winning prizes.
So despite some cosmetic problems with this site, we’re glad to see Great Britain Casino added to the Great British Casino market and it’s a site you should consider checking out and that the site owners should consider polishing up a little.
