Ay caramba! There’s no discernible Spanish or Latin American link to this site, which is a member of the ASG family and is themed around a crazy parrot. The Karamba Casino site is heavily games focussed, with a live casino featured most heavily in its welcome bonus when we visited.
The site is kind of low-key in design, down to its neutral shaded backdrops, but won an award in 2019 for its marketing.
So, who are AG?
AG is Aspire Global and the company has a couple of licenses. One is for the parent company, which is licensed as a software provider, and the one that concerns us here is for AG Communications Limited, which run this site along with 78 others.
That is to say, they have a licence for 79 sites. A good deal of these are now inactive, the company runs some itself, and a fair number are what are called White Label sites. White Label is a familiar business model in the casino market: a developer like Aspire has all the skills and resources needed to set up a high-quality functioning casino site, but they lease it out to someone else who puts a brand on the site and makes some of the “front-end” decisions. This is a very common model in the industry, and it explains why so many casino sites look so familiar – they are likely to share many functions, including bonus structure and customer care services – when there are so many different brands in the market.
This site is marketed as part of a family: with a sports betting site also part of the offering. Live casino and casino games are also separated.
The look is easy to understand, with lists of games running across the front page (around 800 from around 70 providers). Along the top is a large selection of promotions, including the welcome offer, and weekly and monthly promotions.
The look and feel are fairly familiar to users of this family of sites.
Let’s see if you should let this parrot out of its cage.
Karamba Casino Pros and Cons
We’d love to tell you that a casino site is perfect, we really would, but we pride ourselves on our honesty, so we have to tell you that nothing is perfect. Let’s weigh up the good and bad of Karamba Casino, starting with the plusses.
Pros:
1 –Legal and legitimate with a license
We will never get tired of repeating this.=: never ever play real-money games at a site that is not licensed for that purpose and that you are not legally qualified to play at.
Internet safety is a big deal. (So is safer gambling, of which more later). Players have a number of tools to help them stay safe and the biggest and bluntest of them is the licensing regime. It may not be perfect, but a licence should at least show you that a site is operating in a fair way and meets some minimum standards for the way it operates.
Karamba – as we’ve reported – is licensed as part of AG Communications. Among the sites they run as white labels, are Atlantic Spins, Casiplay, and Wild Slots. They also run a small group of sites themselves, including this one, and Hopa, Generation VIP and Scratch 2 Cash.
There are no settlements and sanctions against this company.
2 – Reel after reel after reel
Games are what most people are interested in when they browse to a casino site, so we’re happy to tell you that Karamba has a very large selection of good quality games from good quality providers.
Slots are the mainstay of this site, and there are nearly 800 of them. They come from developers like Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Netent, Pariplay, Red Tiger, All41 Studios and more.
3 – Friendly and user-friendly
Cartoon parrots might not be to everyone’s taste, but we like the fun, friendly design of this site. Most of all though, Karamba is a user-friendly site.
The design is easy to use and you will never get lost, there are lots of menus and all the most important links – support and FAQs for example – are super easy to find at the bottom or top of a page.
You can list games in several ways that make it easy to pick out the titles you want to find.
4 – Live on arrival
Live games are the big boom area in online casinos at the moment, and Karamba Casino has plenty of them in a well-presented collection of games that gives players a load of information to help them find what they’re looking for.
As with the site’s slot games, the games are well categorized and arranged: by type and also into a Salon Prive section for you high rollers out there.
There are dozens and dozens of tables in total and you’ll find all the big titles from Evolution Gaming, the biggest noise in the sector at the moment.
5 – Promotional push
We’ve looked at a few sites lately that are light on the promo front, but that’s not the case at Karamba Casino.
Now promotions aren’t always great news for players, and you should certainly make sure that you understand them and what they mean for you before you sign up – no player needs to be grabbing every passing promo in our view. But it’s good to see a decent range of promos presented to players at this site.
Cons:
1 – Family affair
This isn’t a white-label site, it is run by AG themselves, but that still puts it in a family of sites with a very familiar look, feel and facilities.
The UK casino industry promises lots of choice for players while actually delivering much less. AG has produced dozens of sites for other operators and we’re not quibbling with the quality here, but you should learn to read up on the way the industry works and start to make your decisions from a position of knowledge. For example, if you’re already a member of an AG site do you want to join another or are you better off playing where you are and making the most of that site.
Up to you, but the model itself is problematic in our view.
2 – Small scale
This is a very minor point, but in a world where you need to shout to get attention, the design and feel of Karamba is quite a low key. This might be a massive plus to you, but there aren’t many bells, whistles, lights or special effects at this, literally, grey site.
Take a look and see what you think of yourself.
Games and Software
The site runs on AG’s own platform, and they run games from, at the time of writing, 69 providers. You should expect all of these numbers to increase and we list games where we find them when we find them – games may well move, be removed, or added to by the time you go to the site.
Slots are the first focus of the site and that’s where we’ll start.
Karamba Slots
There is a handy list of the most popular titles in the header on the front page, and they are: Fire Joker, Reel Bandits, Starburst, Gold King, Book of Relics, Dragons of the North, 9 Pots of Gold, and Bloodshot Rising Spirit.
A straight forward listing of all the slots at the site by “featured games” brings you these titles:
Big Buffalo, Super lion, Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Starburst, Hyper Striker, Great Rhino Megaways, Madame Destiny Megaways, and Big Bass Bonanza.
New games open up a list that starts with: Amber Sterling’s Mystic Shrine, Queen of Wands, Rain Balls, Book of Gems Megaways, Party Pop, Go Gold, Wild Fruit Super Wheel, and Bandits Thunder Link.
Slots lists games that are classified as video slots, this gives you: Lost Tomb of Karamses, Karamba Clan, Amber Sterling’s Mystic Shrine, Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Fire Joker, Dragons of the North, Gonzo’s Quest, and Twin Spin.
There is a relatively small selection of jackpot games, listing progressive titles, and there is no ready to drop selection at this site.
These are the jackpot games you get: Grand Spinn Superpot,
Imperial Riches, Lucky Lady, Redeem the Dream, Super Fast Hot Hot, Super Lucky Reels, Super Lion, Vegas Night Lie, Temple of Wealth, Beast of Wealth, and Jackpot Fortunes.
List “all games” and you get a list starting with: Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Starburst, Amber Sterling’s Mystic Shrine, Go Gold, Party Pop, Book of Gems Megaways, Gonzo’s Quest, Fire Joker, and Rain Balls.
Table Games at Karamba Casino
Casino games now have two faces. The first is the older style of the game known as RNG games. The RNG stands for a random number generator, and that’s the algorithm that governs the game. These games are computer simulations of the actual casino game and are almost always played by a single player against the computer.
At Karamba Casino you will find:
Roulette
There’s a decent selection of roulette wheels including: European Roulette Karamba, American Roulette, European Roulette VIP, 3D European Roulette, Turbo Roulette, Real Roulette with series, 10p Roulette and more.
Blackjack
Blackjack is the most popular casino card game. Among the variants available to players at Karamba Casino are: Blackjack Karamba, Blackjack VIP, Blackjack Multi-Hand VIP, Blackjack Multi-Hand, Classic Blackjack and more.
Other Games at Karamba Casino
You can also black baccarat at Karamba Casino and you can bring up a selection of scratch card games too.
Bonuses at Karamba Casino
Bonuses are a big part of the casino industry, for good and ill. Our main hope when we review a casino bonus is that our readers come away understanding more about how these bonuses work and as a result are able to make better decisions about them.
Let’s unpack the details of the Karamba Promotions page.
Welcome Bonus at Karamba Casino
All the focus always goes on the welcome bonus. This is a big headline figure that is designed to attract players to the site. More than that though it is designed to keep players at a site and spending money while they’re there.
That is how welcome bonuses are designed and it is why they are offered. That doesn’t mean that it might not be a good thing to accept a welcome bonus, but it does mean this is the frame in which you should consider it. It also means you should put one thought out of your mind: “I am going to get rich from playing with free money at this casino!” That is not going to happen.
Let’s peel back the skin of Karamba’s welcome bonus.
The headline is: Up to 100 Spins and up to £50
And immediately we find that that offer in fact requires you to make hang around for three days: a first deposit offer has a 100% bonus of up to £50 and 20 free spins. Then on day two – along with another deposit – you get 40 more free spins. And on day three, when you deposit, you get forty more and a surprise.
The minimum deposit is £10.
The spins are awarded on the game fruity friends.
The later deposits are a minimum of £20. So to collect the full £50 you would need to deposit at least £90. You must use all this money within 21 days.
Then we come to the wagering requirement. This is an amount of your own money that you must deposit and play with in order to unlock any money from the bonus, including winnings from the free spins.
At Karamba Casino the figure is 35-times the bonus.
Free spins must be used within a day of being granted. A wagering requirement is then added to any winnings from the spins. So if you win £10, you need to deposit and play with £350 before you can withdraw that £10.
There is weighting on the games that contribute to the wagering requirement and you will need to check a very long list of slots and other games to check how this works.
There is also an “abuse” clause. “Abuse” in the eyes of Karamba is betting more than £4, or 50p a line or 15% of your bonus before the wagering requirement has been fulfilled. It’s a smaller amount for Skrill.
Other Promotions at Karamba Casino
There are other promotions at Karamba Casino. The terms and conditions include some for a currently not active no deposit bonus so it’s certainly something that the site has offered at some point in the past.
Currently available to players are: a March promo that looks like a tournament on SkyWing Games. Tournament play is a popular way to bring extra interest and a social and competitive element to online slots play. Tournaments usually require players to play a particular game or set of games and at the end of a limited period, the player with the most points wins a prize.
There is also a weekly prize draw for £2,000. Prize draws are usually qualified for by depositing.
This is a slate that will change so if you enjoy promotions make sure you check in on what is available when you sign up.
And remember that promotions are designed to get you to spend more money – make sure you play safely.
Loyalty Schemes and VIP Schemes
There was no loyalty scheme for UK players at Karamba Casino that we could find. Loyalty schemes work by rewarding players for the amount they spend. They have become controversial recently as they may be implicated in encouraging players to spend more than they are comfortable with.
There is a salon prive section in the live casino. This is likely to be linked to a VIP programme and this will be open by invitation if it follows the usual model.
VIP programmes generally offer better terms in things like withdrawal speed, deposit limits and so on, and also encourage high-spenders to spend their time and money at a particular casino site. Always make safe play your first priority.
Karamba Live Casino
The live casino offering at Karamba is large and impressive. There’s a big selection of games, including a lot of titles from Evolution Gaming, the world’s biggest providers of these streaming games.
We found on our visit:
Live roulette at Karamba Casino: We found 22 open tables, including all the usual rule variants and styles like Lightning Roulette, a big prize multiplier game, plus high speed and automatic games and versions of roulette from particular casinos and in a number of languages.
Live blackjack at Karamba Casino: We found 59 live blackjack tables on our visit. This includes all the usual tweaks on rules and presentation, such as speed games, infinite games, free bet games, party games and more.
You can also play live game shows like Monopoly, Dream Catcher, Deal or No Deal and the Lightning Games. And you can play baccarat and sic bo and live dealer poker games.
Karamba Mobile Casino and App
The mobile site is delivered without a download. This allows players to browse the Karamba Casino site on their usual mobile browser.
Most games are designed for mobile players these days so you should find the vast majority of games available to you whatever device you use.
Banking
There’s a large selection of banking methods available to players at Karamba Casino. They include: Trustly, Zimpler, Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller, Entropay, MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Electron and Visa. So no PayPal, but a good set that takes in traditional banking, e-wallets and pre-paid cards.
The minimum deposit for all of these methods is £10, and the maximum withdrawal where it applies is £10,000.
Customer Support
Knowing you can reach out for help and you’ll get a fast, competent answer is absolutely a must-have when you choose a casino site.
We’re happy to say that Karamba Casino has a great set of customer care options and sets up as a member of the AG CARE (Customers Are Really Everything) scheme – OK, it’s not the snappiest acronym, but the meaning is there.
You can use Live Chat at Karamba at any time with customer care responding from 8 am to midnight (CET).
You can also e-mail via a web form.
So no telephone number, but there is a good set of informational documents on the site, including very good information on safer gambling. The site’s terms, security policy, privacy policy, bonus policy, betting rules and responsible gaming information is very easy to find.
Make use of it all.
The Final Verdict
Karamba is hardly a newcomer now and it has earned its place in the gilded cage of the most popular UK casino sites. We think it’s probably the biggest hitter in the AG range, although they are adding new sites all the time.
It’s a family of sites with a good sports betting option available but its’ the casino site – including live casino games – that we looked at.
And we liked what we found. A big range of slots is a must-have of course, and that is certainly evident, with all the big-name producers represented in the Karamba catalogue. The range of progressive jackpots is a little smaller than most and there’s no must-drop selection but that might be something that will come along soon.
Table games come in a good range and there’s no faulting the big, easy to use live casino site, complete with a full set of Evolution Gaming tables and lovely presentation.
On the downside, some of you are going to find the design just a little tame, and, well, it’s another site in another family of sites, so you may get a rush of déjà vu when you log on for the first time.
There’s not much to dislike here though, even the promotions are well worth checking out, and we think you should welcome this parrot into your home.
